Background:
Ali Emrouznejad has been working in various areas of Operations Research and Statistic generally and Data Envelopment Analysis specifically since 1993. He holds an MSc in applied mathematics and received his PhD in operational research and systems from Warwick Business School, UK. Having got PhD in the area of DEA, in 1998, he has joined to the development team of Performance Indicators (PI) in Higher Education (HE) at HEFCE (Higher Education Funding Council for England). The PI in HE has widely published and it is now annual publication of HESA (Higher Education Statistical Agency). His most recent research project was “assessing cost efficiencies in higher education” funded by the Department for Education and Skills (DfES).
His areas of research interest include performance measurement and management, efficiency and productivity analysis as well as data mining. Dr Emrouznejad serves on the editorial board of several scientific journals; he is senior editor and one of the founding members of the Data Envelopment Analysis Journal, associate editor of the IMA Journal of Management Mathematics and guest editor to several special issues of journals including Journal of Operational Research Society, Annals of Operations Research, Journal of Medical Systems andInternational Journal of Energy Management Sector. He is co-founder of Performance Improvement Management Software (PIM-DEA).
Dr Emrouznejad is author of the book on "Applied Operational Research with SAS", he has published in such journals as Computers and Operations Research, Journal of Operational Research Society, Information and Management, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Productivity and Performance Management, Expert Systems with Applications, International Transactions in Operational Research, International Journal of Production Research, Computers and Industrial Engineering, International Journal of Operations Research, International Journal of Approximate Reasoning, Knowledge-Based Systems, Soft computing, International Journal of Industrial and Systems Engineering, Information Sciences, Expert Systems, Applied Mathematics and Computation, Applied Mathematical Modelling, International Journal of Financial Service Management, Journal of Global Information Management, Assembly Automation, Applied Economics Letters, Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, Journal of Environmental Technology and Management and Journal of Medical Systems.
He is a member of the Operational Research Society of UK, secretary of Midland Operational Research Society, and Co-founder of Performance Improvement Management Software (DEA-PIMsoft). Further to this Ali's website (www.DEAzone.com) in DEA has internationally recognised as a main source for DEA users.
Ali also worked in the area of Data Mining and statistical tools using SAS and SPSS-Clementine. He has recently written a book in the area of "Applied Operational research with SAS".
